St. George, Utah: Double the Fun, Twice the Adventure

St. George, Utah, holds a special place in our family's heart, not just because of its natural beauty, but also for the unforgettable experiences we've had here. During our road trip, we had the pleasure of stopping in St. George twice, and each visit was filled with excitement and exploration.

Welcome to Utah

On our way up, we arrived in St. George a bit later than we'd hoped, which meant missing out on the children's museum. However, we made the best of it by spending time at a local park and treating ourselves to some delightful ice cream at Judd’s General Store. Judd's was a delightful experience for the kids. They were captivated by the array of candies and had a blast selecting their ice cream flavors. It was a perfect way to sweeten our day and create lasting memories. We may have gone a little backwards but after our ice cream stop we found Kairo’s bowls and pitas near by. Dinner was a fantastatic Mediterranean delight where we crafted a bowl for each of us, that left our taste buds dancing.

We arrived at the St. George KOA late at night in order to ensure we had a full day to enjoy what St. George had to offer. Nestled slightly outside the bustling city of St. George, the St. George KOA offered our family a serene retreat with breathtaking views. Our campsite, perfectly perched on a cliff, granted us unobstructed vistas of nature's splendor.

While the KOA itself was well-equipped and provided all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay, it was the landscape that truly stole the show. The picturesque surroundings and the natural beauty of the area were awe-inspiring.

Though it required a backtrack of about 5-10 minutes once we exited the highway, it was this journey that rewarded us with the incredible views. The decision to stay at the St. George KOA not only ensured a comfortable camping experience but also allowed us to bask in the beauty of the great outdoors, making our visit to St. George even more memorable.

Determined not to miss out on the St. George Children's Museum, we made sure to arrive early on our way back home. The museum is a paradise for kids, featuring a series of smaller themed rooms. From an airport to a theater stage, sound room, dragon castle, prehistoric area, sports room, firehouse, and farm – there was something to spark every child's imagination. Due to the nature of smaller rooms when the kids wanted to move on at different times it made me glad that there were equal number of parents to children.

What truly stole the show was the water play area outside the children's museum. Our boys were in their element, splashing around the ground spray area, darting in and out of the water with pure joy. The presence of other families made it a fantastic social experience for our kids.

Adjacent to the ground spray area, there's another water play section featuring fountains from a fire hose, two friendly frogs creating a playful stream, and rocks to hop back and forth on. While this area was equally fun, we focused more on the ground fountain, considering our kids' spirited nature.

The entire water play area is thoughtfully surrounded by benches and outdoor tables and chairs, providing ample seating for parents. Shade from trees and overhead awnings ensured our comfort as we watched the kids have the time of their lives.

Our culinary adventure continued with another visit to Kairos but we noticed some families opting for Costco pizza or chicken – a brilliant idea if you're traveling with a larger group or plan on spending a long time at the park.

Both times we visited, we had no trouble finding street parking, either right in front of the children's museum on 100S St. or a few streets over. Navigating downtown on Main Street with our RV proved tricky due to smaller roundabouts, so on our second visit, we wisely chose 200E Street, which was wide and easy to drive on.

St. George, Utah, delivered double the fun and twice the adventure for our family. The children's museum, with its themed rooms and captivating water play area, was a highlight that had our kids beaming with joy. Whether you're planning a quick pit stop or a more extended stay, St. George has something to offer every traveler, and it's a destination we'll remember fondly for years to come.
