Getaway to St. Regis Punta Mita: Family Fun and Relaxation

Sunset- Over the St. Regis Bay

We embarked on a weekend journey from LAX to Puerto Vallarta for a friend's wedding, our family's trip was surprisingly smooth sailing. The short 3-hour flight was a blessing, ensuring the kids remained engaged and content throughout the journey. Swift customs clearance in Puerto Vallarta and the seamless pre-arranged car service through our attentive St. Regis butler ensured a stress-free transition to our destination, despite the potential traffic delays during the hour-long transfer to the hotel. The St. Regis butler service epitomized the pinnacle of luxury. The sheer indulgence of effortlessly summoning an array of services with just a text message elevated our experience to a level of unparalleled opulence. Whether it was orchestrating a paddleboarding adventure, obtaining information about pool hours (which, incidentally, are non-existent, offering a sense of limitless leisure), or indulging in room service ordered with a text, every interaction with the butler left us feeling genuinely pampered and cocooned in a world of refined extravagance.

The weather welcomed us with open arms—mild low 80s, accompanied by a touch of humidity and a hint of overcast sky that suited my fair complexion perfectly. It’s easy to see why December is one of the most popular times to visit Punta Mita and Puerta Vallarta. St. Regis' sheltered bay offered surprisingly warm waters and gentle waves, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for our kids to revel in beach activities.

Our stay at St. Regis was decidedly decadent. The luxurious hotel room boasted comfort and style, and the pièce de résistance was the bathroom, with its outdoor shower that quickly became a beloved experience for the kids and my partner alike. Our expansive balcony transformed into a daily stage for visits from diverse bird species and friendly iguanas, adding a magical touch of wildlife to our stay. Opting for a balcony over ground-level rooms when traveling with the kids is a strategic choice. This decision ensures that we sidestep any potential morning chaos, sparing us the scenario of half-dressed, half-awake chasing sessions should the little ones decide to make an impromptu escape.

St Regis Punta Mita Children's Pool

The pool area with splash pad, waterfalls and shallow depth

St. Regis's assortment of pools, especially the kids' pool with its engaging splash pad and shallow depth, was a hit. As the kids reveled in exploration, I found respite in lounging by the water's edge, thanks to the zero-depth entry and strategically placed lounge chairs. The nearby waterwall feature helped to keep them entertained for hours on end.

St Regis Punta Mita Children's Club

The resort excelled in providing family-centric activities. The complimentary kids' club, designed for ages 5-12, offered a plethora of engaging adventures, granting us some much-needed adult time while the kids indulged in their chosen escapades.

Dining was a delight, offering diverse options. The exquisite Las Marietas restaurant, with its delectable breakfast brunches, and the laid-back Sea Breeze Bar were memorable culinary experiences. However, the highlight for our kids was the Mita Mary Bistro Boat—an eatery designed like a boat on land, becoming our preferred dining spot during our stay.

St. Regis Punta Mita proved to be an all-encompassing haven for every member of our family, ensuring an indelible and revitalizing vacation experience. From the inviting waters and impeccable service to the myriad of activities and exceptional dining choices, it stands as the perfect destination for families seeking luxury and comfort.

Additionally, the hotel's provision of childcare arrangements served as a welcome relief, allowing us to enjoy the wedding festivities while our children were well taken care of.
